From online webinars to in-person events, our Perspectives & Insights series is meant to provide our investors with our views on how the changing economic environment is impacting the housing market and to provide insights from our on-the-ground experience on how evolving policies and fluctuating market dynamics are impacting the real estate development industry.
What started as periodic online webinars during the pandemic has migrated to in-person events, allowing us to have a face-to-face dialogue with our investors and to give them a platform to ask us the questions on their minds and, most importantly, to create an opportunity to build strong relationships with our investors.

We had the pleasure of welcoming over 130 investors to this event, which began with a presentation delivered by Greybrook Securities CEO, Sasha Cucuz. With the Bank of Canada having made its most recent, and much anticipated monetary policy announcement the week prior, it was a great opportunity to share our views on the implications of its decision to hold rates and what that might mean for the real estate development industry in the immediate future.
Sasha provided a view on the economic outlook for Canada with rising immigration levels, a slowdown in economic activity, a rising unemployment rate and decreasing inflation. He discussed the ongoing housing supply shortage and challenges we face in addressing the problem in the current environment but also shared some insights on the policy changes that have encouraged more housing development.
With a large portfolio of real estate development projects at various phases of development, Sasha spoke to the specific actions Greybrook and our developer partners are taking to seize opportunities and mitigate risks for projects in the planning phase, the sales or leasing phase, the construction stage and the occupancy/home closing phase of development. This helped our investors gain a better understanding of how we are making decisions in response to the current cost and interest rate environment, demand and market sentiment, and development policy changes. Beyond managing our active portfolio, he reiterated our focus on long-term land development opportunities and well-positioned high-rise projects next to transit and urban amenities.
The engaging presentation sparked a thoughtful discussion, with investors having the opportunity to participate during the Q&A and continue the conversation during the networking cocktail reception portion of the evening.
We look forward to hosting our next Perspectives & Insights event in the spring to hear from our investors and share with them updates and insights. Contact your Investment Representative to learn more about upcoming events.
