We look forward to taking part in the 4th Annual Velo Blu Pedal for Blu Genes event on September 15th in Niagara-on-the Lake, along with many of our colleagues and partners in the real estate development, finance, and professional services industries.
Velo Blu is a sought-after charity ride for both avid and recreational cyclists and is a celebratory event on a mission to advance gene therapy for rare genetic disorders. The BLU GENES Foundation began with a personal mission to find a cure for a rare and fatal genetic disorder called Tay-Sachs disease and was soon established for the larger purpose of raising funds and awareness to advance gene therapy and find a cure for genetic disorders. As one of the lead sponsors, members of the Velo Blu organizing committee, and the BLU GENES foundation, we are thrilled to see this year’s event expand to include many new participating organizations and sponsors. This year, we will welcome over 18 new sponsoring organizations and 27 returning sponsors and supporters. We are also very pleased to welcome our new and returning riders and non-riding guests to spend a fun day in Niagara-on-the-Lake in support of this amazing charity. Among them will be a group of 10 riders from Greybrook who will hit the pavement alongside our industry friends and colleagues, and alongside Dr. Ivakine from SickKids, whose genetic research is being supported by the Blu Genes Foundation. The ride will kick off on the picturesque grounds of Peller Estates Winery, where riders will have the option to select a 30km or 75km ride through Niagara-on-the-Lake and Niagara Falls. Following the ride, a celebration will commence, highlighting the notable achievements in research supported by BLU GENES.A big thank you to all of the sponsors, supporters, riders and volunteers of this year’s ride, many of which are Greybrook’s business partners in the industry.
