The team successfully raised $6,400 for Baycrest, helping to continue research, innovation, care, and education in the field of aging and brain health.
This year’s charity ride, led by Canadian fitness icons Hal Johnson and Joanne McLeod from BodyBreak, aimed to inspire Canadians to embrace an active lifestyle to improve their brain health. The event catered to both recreational and endurance riders, offering a selection of three distinct routes: 25km, 50km, and 75km.
Baycrest is a hub for more than 300 researchers working to prevent, detect and treat dementia across Canada. According to the foundation, nearly 1.1 million people in Canada are directly or indirectly impacted by dementia. While dementia is a disease without a cure, research shows that just 150 minutes of exercise per week helps delay the onset of Alzheimer’s and related dementias.
