Lower JCT, a Greybrook development with developer partner Castlepoint Numa was recently featured on Urban Toronto (UT). The UT article focused on the recent submission of The Site Plan Approval, helping to take another step towards the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) moving into its new location in the AUTO BLDG.
Situated south of Bloor near Dundas, the Lower JCT. development aims to revitalize the area while playing on its existing character. The four-story Draft Building will include office, retail, and light industrial space that will be occupied by Indie Ale House microbrewery, as well as Propeller Coffee Co. Both businesses will help to bring a very distinct persona to the building common to the Junction area. Underground parking will also be built, spanning the entire block.
With slight revisions of the first conceptual renderings, the Draft Building’s new design (above) will maintain a contemporary feel while using industrial materials to pay respect to the location and previous tenants. As covered by Urban Toronto, the site will be surrounded by a public park set to the west (5C), Museum FLTS. (3B) to the north and the AUTO BLDG. to the east as seen below.
With site preparations expected to begin in the first quarter of 2018, it will not be long before above ground construction begins. Keep checking our blog to see any news or progression on Lower JCT and how this new and improved urban hotspot will shape the future of the Junction.
