MCH Group (the organisation behind the Art Basel fair) will continue to make Miami Beach home to the American edition of the annual art fair until at least 2023. Art Basel stages the world’s premier international art fairs annually in Basel, Hong Kong, and Miami Beach, which has hosted the event since 2002. Over 200 of the world’s leading international Modern and contemporary art galleries will display artworks in Miami by over 4,000 artists, including paintings, sculptures, installations, photography, film, video, and digital art.
The organisation agreed to continue holding the fair at the Miami Beach Convention Center from 2019 to 2023 once the city confirmed $2.8 million in renovations for a new elevator and escalator. Art Basel also took an option to hold the fair there from 2024 to 2028. The Center is currently undergoing a $615 million expansion, but all four exhibition halls will remain open during the fair (which runs from December 7th to the 10th).
Located across Biscayne Bay from our developments at 300 and 400 Biscayne Boulevard, the Art Basel fair draws over 70,000 visitors annually to Miami Beach and the surrounding area.
