Designs for our Annex development with developer partner, Cityzen Development Group, were recently featured in the Toronto Star.
Architect Brian Brisbin and his team unveiled his plans for the City of Toronto’s first vertical forest – an impressive 27-storey luxury residential condominium with integrated greenery on each terrace. A concept pioneered in Milan’s Bosco Verticale towers, vertical forests incorporated into residential developments combat the heat island effect of the city and help wildlife, such as birds, insects and other pollinators, find habitats in Toronto’s concrete jungle. The 400-500 trees will be a mixture of deciduous and conifers, all of which would be native to the region and capable of withstanding harsh Toronto winters. Each tree will be computer monitored for health and hydration by the University of Toronto and Vineland Research and Innovation.
Located at Davenport Road and Designers Walk, adjacent to both the Annex and Yorkville neighbourhoods, the Annex development will integrate luxury living with micro-sustainable greenery in a tower unlike any other within the region.
