The event program commenced with remarks from Ben Bakst, CEO, Marlin Spring, as well as, Sasha Cucuz, CEO, Greybrook Securities, who shared with attendees stories about the transformation they have witnessed in the area along with shared excitement to start construction. This was followed by long time, local Councillor Frances Nunziata who reflected on the community’s industrial past and expressed her delight to see the derelict parcel soon become a vibrant high-rise community and remarked upon she hoped to see more great projects like Stockyards District Residences be developed in the immediate area. Following the speeches, Councillor Nunziata joined Greybrook and Marlin Spring leadership on-site for the official ground breaking photo.
To provide attendees a glimpse into the unique charm of the Junction neighbourhood, the sales office was transformed into The Stockyard District Marketplace, where local businesses including Rainhard Brewing, The Grind Stockyard – Espresso Bar and Junction Fromagerie, showcased their artisanal crafts and treats.
