In April 2021, our Kitchener project partnership successfully closed on the acquisition of a parcel of land (“Manneheim Trail Lands”), a remnant right of way that bisects a portion of the project site. With the acquisition now complete, the development team is working to advance our draft plan submission and is preparing the requisite materials to resolve the overall sanitary capacity of our project land and the adjacent land (owned by our developer partners) to the south of our site with the City of Kitchener and Region of Waterloo. Once approved, site servicing will begin and the marketing and sales program for our planned 221-unit housing development comprised of townhomes and single-detached homes will commence.
Our Kitchener project project site is being , developed in partnership with Greybrook’s long-standing partners, Tercot Communities and Cityzen Development Group, . The site is located a short 10-minute drive away from the Kitchener GO Train Station, the University of Waterloo, and Highway 401, as well as a short commute away from the lively Downtown core that boasts numerous popular restaurants, bars, and boutiques, making it a desirable location to settle down in.
Once complete, our new housing development will bring needed housing to a growing and thriving region in Ontario. The Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo region, dubbed “The Corridor” is home to over 15,000 tech companies, 5,200 tech start-ups, and over 200,000 tech workers, proudly being considered the second largest technology cluster in North America.1
Known as the “Silicon Valley of the North”, the Kitchener-Waterloo region is home to companies that rank among the most promising in artificial intelligence and technology start-ups in the world, as well as established tech behemoths such as Google and BlackBerry Ltd.
