We are thrilled to announce the recent completion of Dale Hawerchuk Park at our Symphony Towns low-rise development with partner Marlin Spring in South Oshawa. The park’s official opening took place last month during a naming ceremony, which included speeches from community leaders and a ribbon-cutting to mark the occasion.
The vibrant park, a central feature of the development, saw its final touches completed this spring. City of Oshawa Mayor, Dan Carter joined the community to speak at the ceremony. “It warms my heart to think of the future generations of kids who will come to this park and be inspired to dream big and work hard to succeed, just like Dale did.” The Oshawa City Council and family members of Dale honoured the late hockey legend, who grew up in Oshawa and made a significant impact on the world of hockey, now extending his legacy to the community. Located at the former site of Dr. F.J. Donevan Collegiate, now part of the Symphony Towns development, the park features beautifully landscaped areas, a children’s playground, sodded green spaces, and pathways for walking and biking.
The Symphony Towns community is carefully planned to enhance the quality of life for its residents. It features well-designed homes, easy access to amenities, and ample green spaces that promote outdoor activities. Dale Hawerchuk Park plays an important role in achieving this objective by providing a peaceful and beautiful environment for families and individuals to enjoy the outdoors and build lasting memories.
We are excited to see the community thrive with the completion of this new park.
