Greybrook Realty Partners and Citizen Development Corporation have been announced as candidates to submit proposals for the purchase, remediation and redevelopment of the Imperial Lands site at 70 Mississauga Road South in Mississauga. The City has set the framework to guide future planning and revitalization of the site as part of the Inspiration Port Credit (IPC) project, and Imperial has noted that there are no physical conditions at the site that would preclude development, once remediated, for uses such as residential.
The owner of 70 Mississauga Road South will prepare a plan to remediate the property to permit future uses for approval by the City and the Province of Ontario’s Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, including public access rights to the Waterfront Trail that extends across the Lake Ontario frontage of the Imperial Lands.
The ICP project’s focus is on setting the right priorities now for the future, by putting together plans which blend the needs and interests of the community, the landowners of the 1 Port Street East and 70 Mississauga Road South sites, and the City. Through this process, the ICP project intends to find unique opportunities at these waterfront sites to create vibrant, inspiring places where people will choose to be.
We will post more regarding Greybrook and Citizen’s proposal for the Imperial Lands as information becomes available.
