Toronto has maintained it’s ranking as Fourth most liveable city in the world, according to the 2017 Global Liveability Ranking by the Economist Intelligence Unit. Despite increasing instability across the world, the top five cities remain unchanged on the Economist’s rankings, which assesses living conditions of locations around the world. The livability index is calculated based on the scores given on 30 different factors across five categories: stability, infrastructure, education, health care and culture/environment. The scores are then compiled and weighted to provide a score between 1–100, where 1 is considered intolerable and 100 is considered ideal. Toronto’s overall rating remains 97.2 out of 100, and the city boasted a perfect score across three of the five categories.
