According to Euromonitor’s 2017 Top 100 City Destinations Ranking, Miami is the second most visited city in the Americas with more than 8 million international visitors projected for 2017. There were 7.833 million international arrivals to the city in 2016, which means 2017 is expected to see a 3.1% increase in visitors who spend 24 hours or more in the city.
It comes as no surprise that Canada’s most visited city is Toronto, which placed 5th on Euromonitor’s top ten ranking Cities in the Americas. Toronto saw over 4 million visitors in 2016, with an expected 4.45 million expected in 2017 – a projected increase of 11.2%. This ranking highlights the continually growing popularity of Miami and Toronto with international travellers, in addition to the thousands looking to call it home.
