The Province of Ontario recently announced a funding contribution of 5 million dollars to the Museum of Contemporary Art Toronto (MOCA) as part of the province’s commitment to culture and recreation infrastructure. MOCA is a key cultural tenant in our Lower JCT development with Castlepoint Numa, and an integral part of the community.
“We are grateful that the Ontario government is aligned with our vision of the new Museum of Contemporary Art Toronto,” stated MOCA Executive Director and CEO Heidi Reitmaier during a press conference. “MOCA will be a responsive and welcoming place, where we will strengthen the community, engage with visitors and nurture interdisciplinary artistic practice. Our programming will represent the diversity and plurality of our country, inspiring conversation and posing provocative questions about the issues of our times. We’re very excited to share our new home with the community.”
Art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to preview the new home of the MOCA during Doors Open Toronto on May 26-27. The international opening of MOCA in the newly refurbished, 55,000 square foot Tower Automotive building is scheduled for September 22, 2018.
