The project is proposed to be a 15-stop, 15.6km subway line that runs from Exhibition Place, through the downtown core, and up to the Ontario Science Centre in North York. The future line will connect with 40 other transit routes, including GO train lines, TTC subway and streetcar stops and a new east-west light rail line, the Eglinton Crosstown, that is currently being built.
Many of our active projects in Toronto such as Broadview, Max Condos, Artistry, Garrison Point, and Linx Condos will benefit from this future transit development. Of these projects, our Broadview site is a short walk from the Cosburn stop, and others are conveniently located within a short distance to other stops.
Premier Doug Ford announced that this proposed line is forecasted to generate $11 billion in economic benefits for the City of Toronto and it will improve transit infrastructure for future commuters. According to Metrolinx, The Ontario Line is expected to be the largest subway expansion in Canadian history. It is expected to be operational by 2030.
