A recent article by UrbanToronto (UT) took a look at the original transportation plans proposed in the MoveOntario 2020 initiative on June 15, 2007, and how these initiatives have fared over the past ten years. MoveOntario 2020 is comprised of plans for 52 different transit projects spanning across the GTA, representing an estimated $17.5 billion worth of transit improvements. These plans include routes to Barrie, Stouffville, Uxbridge, Pickering, Bolton, Georgetown, Milton and Hamilton, providing the necessary transportation to connect all of Ontario. With less than three years before the set deadline, some projects are still under discussion, but many communities have seen significant improvements to their transit infrastructure.
For a full list of projects and their status, check out the article on UT’s website.
