Members of our Greybrook team recently rolled up their sleeves at The Common Table, a Toronto-based drop-in program that provides meals, essential services, and a welcoming space for people experiencing homelessness, social isolation, mental health challenges, and food insecurity.
Before getting to work, our team heard from The Common Table’s leadership about the organization’s mission and the growing need for its services. What stood out most was learning that those they support aren’t only individuals experiencing homelessness—many are seniors, working professionals, and others struggling to keep up with the rising cost of living.
Inspired by that perspective, our team of 15 volunteers quickly got to work, organizing an assembly line and preparing more than 250 fresh sandwiches in under an hour. It was a simple effort that made a meaningful impact, while reminding us that giving back isn’t only about financial contributions—volunteering our time and lending a helping hand can be just as powerful.

The Common Table is far more than a meal program. It provides a welcoming environment where individuals can access nutritious food alongside critical supports, including mental health resources, crisis intervention, and community connections. By creating a space built on dignity and belonging, the organization helps reduce the isolation and stigma many people face.
We are grateful for the opportunity to support the incredible work being done by The Common Table and its dedicated volunteers. It was a rewarding experience for everyone involved, and one that reinforced the importance of investing our time in the communities where we live and work. We look forward to continuing to support organizations that create meaningful, lasting impact.
