Google Canada officially opened the doors of their new Kitchener based headquarters earlier this year with a visit from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to kick off their first day. More than 350 engineers (referred to as Canooglers by employees) get to call the new science fiction and fantasy themed headquarters home, with access to everything from a gym (complete with rock climbing wall), full service cafeteria with full-time chef available throughout the day, shared workspaces and even a library with a secret door to a private workspace.
Google’s offices originally opened in 2005 with only four employees and have since grown to nearly 400, showcasing the Waterloo region’s steady growth and status as the Silicon Valley of the north.
